The Internet has revolutionized the way we communicate. E-mail has been the most rapidly adopted form of communication ever known. Less than two decades ago, not many people had heard of it. Now, many of us e-mail instead of writing letters or even calling people on the phone. People around the world send out billions of e-mail messages every day.

But sometimes even e-mail isn't fast enough. You might not know if a person you want to e-mail is online at that moment. Also, if you're e-mailing back and forth with someone, you usually have to click through a few steps. This is why instant messaging (IM) has become so popular.

What client's can I use?

You may use any XMPP (or better known as jabber) based clients and there are alot on the market which are free.

If you need to use fastpath then you may freely download and install the spark client as many times as you wish.

Spark Client Chat Status

You can check on the status of your web site chats by going to the fastpath tab.

Once there you can select one of the options

However, you must always make sure that the status in the toolbar states that you are logged in.

FastPath - Web Site Contact Buttons

Web Site contact buttons can be used anywhere and as frequently as you like. Each web site chat button is attached to a "FastPath" group. You may only be a member of 1 group at a time.

We can customise the initial welcome screen that the web site visitor see. You may wish to capture an account number if applicable for example.

If you wish to do this then please CALL the helpdesk with this requirement and we can talk through your exacting requirements.

It is possible for team admins to listen into web site conversations without the knowledge of the web site user. If you require this functionality then please contact the helpdesk with your request.

You may not always be around to answer your website visitors.

You may select one of two options when your not around:

Re-direct the visitor to a URL. eg. further contact options
Display an e-mail form

When using the e-mail form we require the following information:

E-mail address to send all offline messages to
Subject of all offline messages
Text to display to the end user

Please raise a helpdesk ticket to get this added to your free fastpath account

All the button images can be customised to suit your website look and feel.

Please submit a helpdesk ticket with the logos and graphics that you wish to use.

Canned responses give you a quick way to respond to web site visitors with quick phrases such as "Hello how may I help you"

You may have as many "canned reponses" as you like. Please submit a helpdesk ticket to add your responses in.
